About Us

Since 2018, the Department of Visual Communication Design at Hasan Kalyoncu University, within the Faculty of Communication, has been training visual communication designers who can transform knowledge into design and master new communication technologies with strong communication strategies.

In the Department of Visual Communication Design, students gain theoretical and technical skills over a four-year education period, enabling them to produce professional designs competently.

The curriculum in the Department of Visual Communication Design includes practical education covering all branches of visual communication design; such as introduction to communication sciences, design, art, drawing, visual communication design studio, computer-aided graphic design, web design, graphic-animation, image reading, basic production, media workshop, and visual communication design for marketing communication. In addition to mandatory courses, elective courses allow students to focus on areas of their interest.

Students in the Department of Visual Communication Design complete two mandatory internship programs, one within an institution and one outside an institution. These mandatory internships help students gain quality-focused professional competencies and integrate the rapidly changing nature of design with new technologies. They also prepare students to become sought-after, innovative, solution-oriented experts who can accurately analyze the needs of the industry.

Graduates of the Visual Communication Design Department can pursue careers in:

– Graphic design, advertising, social media management, photography, desktop publishing, production companies, media companies, television channels, press and broadcasting organizations, cinema-TV, or any other field related to visual design.
